TOWN OF PITTSBORO BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AUGUST 31, 2022 SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES PAGE 1 OF 2 TOWN OF PITTSBORO The Pittsboro Board of Commissioners met in Special Session on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 10:00am at Town Hall with Mayor Pro Tempore Pamela Baldwin presiding. The meeting was called to order at 10:00am. ELECTED TOWN OFFICIALS PRESENT: Mayor Pro Tern Pamela Baldwin, Commissioner Jay Farrell, Commissioner Kyle Shipp, and Commissioner James Vose. ELECTED TOWN OFFICIALS ABSENT: Mayor Cindy Perry and Commissioner John Bonitz. TOWN STAFF PRESENT: Town Manager Chris Kennedy, Town Clerk Carrie Bailey, Town Attorney Paul S. Messick, Chief of Police Shorty Johnson, Deputy Chief of Police Troy Roberson, Police Captain Brad Clewis, Public Information Officer I Emergency Management Coordinator Colby Sawyer, Wastewater Plant ORC Jamie Mclaurin, Planning Project Manager Molly Boyle, and Planner II Janie Phelps. NEW BUSINESS Mayor Pro Tern Baldwin called for a motion to approve the employment agreement for the prospective Interim Town Manager Hazen Blodgett. Commissioner Farrell made a motion to approve the employment agreement for the Interim Town Manager with an effective date of September 19, 2022, seconded by Commissioner Shipp. Vote: Aye-4 Nay-0 Mayor Perry: NIA Mayor Pro Tem Baldwin: Aye Commissioner Bonitz: Absent Commissioner Farrell: Aye Commissioner Shipp: Aye Commissioner Vose: Aye Motion Passed. Mr. Hazen Blodgett was ceremonially sworn in as Interim Town Manager.
