TOWN OF PITTSBORO BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2025 6:00 PM 2/2712025 - Minutes 1. ORDER OF BUSINESS The Pittsboro Board of Commissioners met in Special Session on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the meeting room at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center with Mayor Pro Tern Pamela Baldwin presiding . The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. Commissioner Farrell led in the Pledge of Allegiance. Elected Town Officials Present: Mayor Pro Tern Pamela Baldwin , Commissioners John Bonitz, Jay Farrell , John Foley and James Vose . Elected Town Officials Absent: Mayor Kyle Shipp. Town Staff Present: Town Manager Jonathan Franklin, Assistant Town Manager/Engineering Director Kent Jackson , Town Attorney Paul S. Messick, Chief of Police Shorty Johnson, Project Analyst Jenna Peterson, Planning Technician Standish Lietz, Communications Specialist Caitlin Murphy, and Town Clerk Carrie Bailey. Commissioner Bonitz made a motion to approve the agenda, seconded by Commissioner Farrell. Aye-5 Nay-0 2. CLIMATE ACTION PLAN DISCUSSION Jenna Peterson , Project Analyst, presented the item to the Board . Board and staff participated in discussion of the vision and climate action plan creation. Mayor Kyle Shipp arrived at 6:26 p.m. 3. Knight Farm Accessibility Project Town Manager Jonathan Franklin presented the item to the Board. Mayor Pro Tern Baldwin made a motion to approve staff to apply for the Park Accessibility Grant and authorize Mayor to sign certification, seconded by Commissioner Vose. Aye-5 Nay-0 4.
