Community Pride Committee Meeting

MINUTES COMMUNITY PRIDE COMMITTEE MARCH 21, 2016 5:00 PM TOWN HALL, 549 MAIN ST. 1. Call to Order/Roll Call: Present: Christine Thiel, Kathi Lishman, Josette Johnson, Tim Daviess Absent: Craig Zangari, Deb Power Staff: Steve Youel 2. Adoption of Agenda: Moved for adoption by Kathi. Seconded by Tim. Motion carried. 3. Approval of Meeting Minutes – January 18, 2016: Kathi moved to approve the minutes with these changes: List Christine as present & correct spelling of Thiel, Kathi & Frier. Seconded by Tim. Motion carried. 4. Public Comment – Brief Non Agenda Items: None 5. Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report was received and filed. Tim reminded the committee that it is time to start planning the budget for 2016-17. 6. Status Reports: A. Community Gardens: Ore Cart Garden: Kathi reported the plan is currently under review by Caltrans. Steve will keep us posted. He will coordinate with Cary to get the timbers from EDHS. We are entering the busy season as far as the work that needs to be done. There is a concern about how long the daffodils can stay in the refrigerator at the City pool. Monument Garden: The committee approved Steve’s proposal to bark the Monument Garden as part of the Day of Service event. Day of Service: To take place on April 30th. Kathi reported that Steve is willing to have volunteer help on that day for Community Pride Gardens. Kathi suggested each gardener get their weeds pulled prior to that day, as Steve offered to have mulch and possible provided to the gardens with no charge to Community Pride. B. Web Page: Nothing to report. C. Inventory Document: Nothing new to report. D. Monument Garden Fundraising: Kathi & Deb are hoping to make a presentation to the Kiwanis in April or May. 7. Work Party Calendar: Each gardener will schedule their own. 8. Annual Report to City Council: Kathi reported that Steve suggest we wait until the ore Cart Garden is approved by Caltrans so we have a shovel ready project to share with the City Council. 9.
