OPEN SESSION CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL: Acuna, Borelli, Clerici, Thomas, Saragosa ANNOUNCEMENTS TO THE PUBLIC ADOPTION OF AGENDA In keeping with the nature of a Special Council Meeting for the purpose of interviewing Planning Commission candidates, it is recommended that the normal order of the Agenda be set aside. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS Planning Commission Interviews The City received five applications by the November 9, 2018, deadline for appointment to the Planning Commission. One candidate did not meet the residency requirements pursuant to City Code 2-2-3. The following qualified candidates are: Maria Mathews, Barbara Raines, Lester Russell, and Laurel Stroud. The interviews are conducted in a public interview process with questions posed to each candidate by the City Council. Each candidate is given sufficient time to respond to the questions. At the conclusion of the interviews, each Councilmember will complete a prepared ballot that the City Manager and City Clerk will tabulate and then report the results of the balloting at the public meeting. NOTE: There is one unexpired term of office to be appointed, ending March, 2021. The results of each individual Councilmember’s vote will be a matter of public record and will be made available to the public upon request pursuant to the Ralph M. Brown Act and the Public Records Act. The candidate appointed by the City Council will be given the Oath of Office before the close of the meeting.
