PRAIRIE VIEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION Notice of Called Board Meeting Thursday, June 4, 2020; 6:00 p.m. Prairie View City Hall; City Council Chambers 44500 U.S. Business Highway 290 Prairie View, Texas 77446 In accordance with an order of the Office of the Governor issued March 16, 2020, the Economic Development Corporation of the City of Prairie View will conduct a video conference and telephonic meeting in order to advance the public health goal of limiting face- to-face meetings (also called “social distancing”) to slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Thirty minutes total has been allocated for this section. Pursuant to Section 551.042 of the Texas Open Meetings Act, any deliberation of or decisions about the subject of an inquiry not specifically listed on the agenda shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on the agenda for a subsequent meeting. Presentation 5. Presentation from Ms. Sharita Humphrey regarding potential processes and screening for the administration of the relief program grant (Director Lampkin) Action Items 6. Discuss, Consider, and Possible Action on proposed business grants for training (Director Lampkin) 7. Discuss, Consider, and Possible Action on proposed COVID-19 Grant applications (Director Brown and Director Walker) 8. Discuss, Consider, and Possible Action contracting with Sharita M. Humphrey as COVID Grant administrator Board/Staff Reports 9. Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 551.0415, the Board of Directors, without having provided notice, may make reports about items of community interest if no action is taken and possible action is not discussed regarding the information provided in the report. “Items of community interest” include: (1) expressions of thanks, congratulations, or condolence; (2) information regarding holiday schedules; (3) an honorary or salutatory recognition of a public official, public employee, or other citizen, except that discussions regarding a change in the status of a person’s public office or public employment is not an honorary or salutatory recognition for purposes of the PVEDC; (4) a reminder about an upcoming event organized or sponsored by the governing body; (5) information regarding a social, ceremonial, or community event organized or sponsored by an entity other than the PVEDC that was attend or is scheduled to be attended by a member of the governing body or an official or employee of the PVEDC; and, (6) announcements involving an imminent threat to the public health and safety of people in the political subdivision that has arisen after the posting of the agenda ADJOURN Executive Session: The Prairie View Economic Development Corporation 4-B reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session at any time during the course of the meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized by Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney), 551.072 (Deliberations about Real Property), 551.073 (Deliberations about Gifts Prairie View EDC Agenda Page | 2 and Donations), 551.074 (Personnel Matters), 551.076 (Deliberations about Security Devices), 551.086 (Economic Development).
