Health and Safety Committee

CITY OF PRESCOTT, WISCONSIN MAY 13, 2021 HEALTH & SAFETY COMMITTEE Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a meeting of Health & Safety Committee was held Thursday, May 13, 2021, 800 Borner St., Prescott, WI 54021. Call to order/Roll Call: Meeting was called to order by Chair Pat Knox. Members present were Maureen Otwell. Tom Oss was excused Also present Mayor David Hovel. City Administrator Jayne Brand represented staff. Also present Elizabeth Riley Gergen and Annie Valentine representing the Prescott Daze Committee The committee had discussion on the upcoming Prescott Daze event held in September. City Administrator Jayne Brand informed the committee the city insurance has no issues with moving forward with the event. Elizabeth Riley Gergen explained they have made contact with Pierce County Public Health in regards to the event. Public Health had reviewed their information and told them they will not be approving the event. It was discussed that Public Health is there to help insure proper protocols are in place rather than giving an actual approval. Gergen and Valentine explained they will be spacing out events, have additional signage and handwashing stations. Gergen and Valentine have been informed the Fire Department will not have any events this year for Prescott Daze so the American Legion will be doing events to help raise funds for the Legion. There will be bingo, bean bag toss and local bands at the Legion on Saturday afternoon and evening. The have asked for St. Croix Street from Pearl Street to Hope Street to be closed for the events as the Legion. Otwell/Knox motion to recommend moving forward with Prescott Daze with the understanding that if things change with COVID the event may need to be cancelled passed without a negative voice vote. Gergen and Valentine stated they will set up a meeting for Prescott Daze and provide the city an agenda. Otwell/Knox motion to adjourn passed without a negative voice vote.
