APPROVED 2/4/2013 REGULAR MEETING MINUTES JANUARY 21, 2013 THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE RICHMOND CITY COUNCIL WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M., ON MONDAY, JANUARY 21, 2013, BY MAYOR RIX. All yeas Motion passes PUBLIC HEARING None scheduled. ITEMS FOR CONSIDERATION 1. Consideration of Special Event Activity Request/Lion’s Club/2nd Annual Family Fun Ride Fund Raiser for Habitat for Humanity Motion by Yaroch, seconded by Greene, to approve the Richmond Lions Club request to use Richmond’s Trailhead Park for their “Rush for the Brush – Family Fun Ride” bike-a-thon on Saturday, June 8, 2013, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All yeas Motion passes 2. Consideration of Special Event Activity Request/Richmond Good Old Days Festival/Snowmobile Drag Race Motion by Schultz, seconded by Misteravich, to approve the Snowmobile Drag Race Special Event Request from the Richmond Area Good Old Days Festival Committee to include the elements outlined in the letter from Richmond Area Good Old Days dated January 9, 2013. All yeas Motion passes CCM: 01/21/2013 Page 2 of 4 APPROVED 2/4/2013 3. Consideration of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Annual Permit for Miscellaneous Operations within the State Trunkline Right-of-Way Motion by Schultz, seconded by LaFore, to approve the Annual MDOT Permit for miscellaneous operations within the State Trunkline Right-of-Way. All yeas Motion passes 4. Consideration of Chamber of Commerce Request to hang a banner across M19 in Conjunction with the Winter and Ice Festival Motion by Greene, seconded by LaFore, to approve the request from the Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce for a banner across M-19 and direct the City Clerk to submit advanced notice of the application to MDOT. All yeas Motion passes CITY MANAGER’S COMMENTS - Working on getting the ice rinks open. - Working on revisions to Council’s Goals and Objectives as discussed at the workshop. COUNCIL COMMENTS Councilors commented on the productive workshop. Councilors thanked Representative Ken Goike for attending the meeting. Yaroch – Thanked the volunteers who took down the Holiday decorations. Rix – Reminder of upcoming calendar events: 2/4 – Council meeting at 7:00 pm 2/5 – Parks and Recreation meeting at 7:00 pm 2/8 – 2/10 – Winter and Ice Festival 2/12 – Cable Commission meeting at 7:00 pm 2/14 – Daddy/Daughter Dance – this event is sold out 2/15 – 2/19 – Richmond School winter break 2/18 – Council meeting at 7:00 pm CLOSED SESSION None scheduled.
