Lois Wagner Memorial Library Board of Trustees Meeting (Approved) Monday, October 9th, 2023, 5:30 p.m. Present: Kiel, Maksymiuk, O’Neill, Robson Librarian: Julianne Kammer Absent: Stump Call to order: at 5:34 p.m. by Chairperson Maksymiuk Approval of agenda: Motion by Robson to approve October 2023 Agenda; all yes, motion carried. Public comments: None Approval of minutes: Motion by Kiel to approve September 2023 Minutes; all yes, motion carried. Memorial/Gifts: On file. Financial Report: Revenue & Expenditure Report: On file. Library Funds Received & Spent: On file. Chairperson report: None Librarian report: On file Unfinished Business: None New Business: 2024 Closure Dates Motion by O’Neill to approve the proposed 2024 library closure dates; all yes, motion passed. Director’s Evaluation CLOSED SESSION Motion by O’Neill to go into closed session at 6:10 p.m.; all yes, motion passed. OPEN SESSION Motion by Robson to leave closed session and resume open session at 7:00 p.m.; all yes, motion passed. We, as a board, agree that Julianne Kammer made significant progress in 2023 regarding coordination with area schools to increase student visitation to the library, which resulted in over 300 new library cards. Kammer also successfully guided staff through the migration to a new automation system. Long and short term goals include the expansion of the new Library of Things collection, continued career development, community education regarding the upcoming Richmond Township millage renewal, and continued work with city administration and City Council regarding future library improvements.
