THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE RICHMOND RECREATION BOARD WAS
CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:00 P.M., ON TUESDAY, MARCH 1, 2022, BY MELISSA
MAJCHRZAK.

Motion by Kiel, seconded by Warn, to approve the January 11, 2022, minutes as presented.

RECREATION DIRECTOR UPDATES
A. Activity Report – January 2022
The Chili Cook Off was held in February and was a success. We had nine chili cookers and 94
people came to taste and vote.
In January the Community Center started to have a weekly Senior Program Monday Game Day.
This group used to attend the Richmond Township senior program.
Beebe St. Park and Pavilion rentals began in January. The rentals started out slow; but have
since really picked up.

B. Upcoming Events
Thursday, March 17th Egg Stuffing with RMS Builders Club
Saturday, April 9th Easter Event at 10:30 a.m.

ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION
A. Lifeguard Class
This is the 2nd year we are partnering with Mitchell through CPRAQ to offer a certified lifeguard
class. Our pool is good because we can offer the deep water training also.
B. Recreation Department Budget
The FY 2022/23 budget was due to be completed by Tuesday, March 1, 2022. The Recreation
Director has asked for some additions to be included in conjunction with High Priority items
from the Master Plan.
C. Roosevelt Auditorium Survey
The Recreation Director, City Manager and Administrative Assistant to the City Manager have
worked together to create a survey for the Roosevelt Auditorium. The survey has been made
available through the City of Richmond website and the Recreation Departments Facebook page.
So far about 40 people have responded.
D. RAHGS Heritage Festival
City Council approved Richmond Area Historical and Genealogical Society to hold their 3rd
Annual Heritage Festival in June. They are hoping to have more vintage farm tractors.
