City Council Meeting November 8, 2021 The regular Riverdale City Council meeting of November 8, 2021 was called to order at 6:00 PM by President Orth. Present: Jerry Orth, Garth Zimbelman, Dick Cheatley, Jonna Taylor and Auditor Del Kolke Taylor moved to approve the October 4, 2021 meeting minutes. Zimbelman seconded. Motion carried. Taylor moved to approve the bills. Cheatley seconded. Motion carried. Taylor moved to approve the agenda. Zimbelman seconded. Motion carried. Old Business: Council plans to allow for additional water treatment/maintenance staff next year when compiling 2023 budget. New Business: Taylor moved to approve raffle permit to Ducks Unlimited for Dec. 11, 2021 event. Cheatley seconded. Motion carried. Cheatley moved to approve Building Permit No. 21-7 for construction of a garage on Lot 8 Block 23 Original Townsite. Zimbelman seconded. Motion carried. Taylor moved to approve sale of Lot 27R Block 3 John Adams Addition for $13,500 to Clay and Faye Burns. Cheatley seconded. Motion carried. Morning Star Campground rates will not increase for the 2022 season. Taylor is soliciting quotes for new picnic tables. Several rules will be clarified prior to sending out renewal paperwork. Reports: The fire department is researching the purchase of an infrared camera. City hall will be closed Thursday, Nov. 11 for Veteran’s Day and also Thursday and Friday, Nov. 25 & 26 for Thanksgiving. Further, the auditor will be out of the office Nov. 18 – 24. Zimbelman informed council inspection of the electrical distribution system is necessary and also tree trimming for power line clearance. 11/08/2021 Page 2 Taylor noted quite a few stop signs are in need of replacement and several areas may require yield signs. Maintenance will provide feedback after conducting an assessment of intersections within town. Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 13 at 6:00 PM. Meeting adjourned at 6:55 PM.
