City Council Meeting

City Council Meeting October 9, 2023 The regular Riverdale City Council meeting of October 9, 2023 was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mayor Taylor. Present: Alex Taylor, Garth Zimbelman, Dave Fryda, Mike Dirk, Dick Cheatley and Auditor Del Kolke Cheatley moved to approve consent agenda. Fryda seconded. Motion carried. Guests: AJ Tuck, Moore Engineering, reported Phase II of the gate valve replacement project will be delayed until next spring. Riverdale Park Board members were present to request renewal of lease, which includes three (3) playgrounds, softball field and walking trail, that expired in 2020. Cheatley moved to initiate a new lease for these properties. The conditions and term will align with the football field lease. Zimbelman seconded. Motion carried. An inquiry was made for an outdoor concert/dance at Riverdale High Lodge rear parking lot or football field. Permission and coordination for use of the football field would be through the Riverdale Park Board. Transfer of liquor license and security would be required. Reports: Morning Star Campground has closed for the season and maintenance has winterized water lines and shut off electrical service. Fryda reported Otter Tail will be on site to address repairs of the 13.8 KV line from the Corps of Engineers switchyard to the city. Power will be disrupted for a period of time Tuesday, Oct. 17. Auditor has been called for jury duty and may be out of the office next week for scheduled trial. She may also be working remotely for a short period of time later this month.
