City Council Meeting

City Council Meeting December 11, 2023 The regular Riverdale City Council meeting of December 11, 2023 was called to order at 6:00PM by Mayor Taylor. Present: Alex Taylor, Garth Zimbelman, Dave Fryda, Mike Dirk, Dick Cheatley and Auditor Del Kolke Cheatley moved to approve the consent agenda. Zimbelman seconded. Motion carried. Guest: Joshua & Tara Dukart, Kennedy Addition property owners, were present to discuss a bill received from the City of Riverdale concerning maintenance of their vacant lots. After lengthy discussion, council determined the amount due is justified and expect diligent attention to the upkeep of this property in the future. New Business: Dirk moved to approve Bullinger Tree Service proposal of $10,500 for removal of trees at Kiddie Pond and various areas throughout town. Fryda seconded. Motion carried. Reports: Dirk contacted a postal official and was told individuals can place street delivery mailboxes on boulevards, regardless of location, as this is considered public property. Due to rainfall prior to recent snow, streets are icy and will be addressed by maintenance personnel. Auditor informed council new website is active and modifications are necessary. Training is scheduled for later this month to allow auditor to administer the site. Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 8 at 6:00 PM. Meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM.
