City Council Meeting

City Council Meeting February 12, 2024 The regular Riverdale City Council meeting of February 12, 2024 was called to order at 6:00 PM by Mayor Taylor. Present: Alex Taylor, Garth Zimbelman, Dave Fryda, Dick Cheatley and Auditor Del Kolke Absent: Mike Dirk Cheatley moved to approve the consent agenda. Fryda seconded. Old Business: Fryda moved to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 49 which abolishes the municipal judge and municipal court cases will be transferred to district court. Zimbelman seconded. Motion carried. New Business: Cheatley moved to approve raffle permit to ND Assn. of County Office Employees for April 26, 2024 event. Fryda seconded. Motion carried. Zimbelman moved to transfer $75,000 from Campground Enterprise Fund to General Fund and $25,000 from Campground Enterprise Fund to Campground Capital Improvement Project Fund. Cheatley seconded. Motion carried. Reports: Upgrade of radios for Fire Dept. has been completed and SIRN reimbursement was submitted and received. Cheatley moved to accept quote in the amount of $6,990.30 for loader tires from OK Tire. Zimbelman seconded. Motion carried. Fryda reported a power outage had occurred and Otter Tail Power was able to restore service. Cheatley presented a report of the water treatment facility membranes. The membranes are losing permeability and further investigation to determine this premature fouling is being considered. The manufacturer offered to perform an autopsy to pinpoint the issue. City hall will be closed Monday, Feb. 19 for President’s Day. Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 11 at 6:00 PM.
