City Council Meeting

City Council Meeting January 8, 2025 The regular Riverdale City Council meeting of January 8, 2025 was called to order at 6:10 PM by Mayor Taylor. Present: Alex Taylor, Ken Skuza, Dave Fryda, Mike Dirk, Jerry Orth and Auditor Del Kolke Fryda moved to approve the consent agenda. Orth seconded. Motion carried. Guests: AJ Tuck, Moore Engineering, presented a proposal to provide preliminary engineering services for a citywide street improvement plan. Dirk moved to approve $12,000 for Phase I. Fryda seconded. Motion carried. Also, Section 594 funding through the US Army Corps of Engineers was recently submitted to complete sewer line work to the lagoons. This request also includes the raw water line project. Discussion on various ordinances with the city attorney ensued. Drafts will be provided shortly to allow adequate time to review and offer suggestions prior to February’s meeting. Old Business: Skuza moved to approve 2025 liquor licenses. Fryda seconded. Skuza retracted motion. Fryda moved to approve 2025 liquor licenses and allow Riverdale High Lodge until May 1 to become compliant. Fryda retracted motion. Fryda moved to approve 2025 liquor licenses for Iron Oar, Reel Convenience, and Spillway Café. Riverdale High Lodge license is approved with a provisional clause requiring correction of fire code violations by May 1. Skuza seconded. Motion carried. New Business: Building Permit No. 25-1 requires revisions for proper setbacks and lot intensity. Reports: Fire Dept. performed a last call for fellow firefighter Robert Schaffer. A capital improvement fund may be designated for future replacement of the brush truck. Taylor will be gone Jan. 10-20. City hall will be closed Monday, Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
