Special Finance Committee Meeting City Hall – Large Conference Room 425 N. Richardson Tuesday, May 10, 2022 Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4 NMSA 1978 and Resolution 22-14. ROLL CALL The meeting convened at 4:02 p.m. with Chairman Corn presiding; Councilor Heldenbrand; Councilor Perry participating via GoToMeeting and Councilor Foster being absent. Staff present: Juan Fuentes, Mike Matthews, Juanita Jennings, Janie Davies, Renee Trujillo Guests present: Councilor Jeanine Best, Councilor Juan Oropesa, Juno Ogle (Roswell Daily Record), Larry Connolly, Rita Kane-Doerhoefer (via GoToMeeting) APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Councilor Heldenbrand moved to approve the May 10, 2022 Special Finance Committee meeting agenda as presented. Councilor Perry was the second. A voice vote was 3-0 and the motion passed with Councilor Perry participating via GoToMeeting and Councilor Foster being absent. NON-ACTION ITEMS Review and discussion of reports as part of the budget process for the Fiscal Year 2023: Ms. Davies and Ms. Trujillo presented information on the staffing and pay scales of various City Departments and discussed the increases in the payroll budget. GRT revenue being applied straight to the funds rather than through transfers was also discussed. FOR THE RECORD: Councilor Perry joined the meeting in person at 4:21 p.m. Mr. Mathews and Mr. Fuentes also discussed current positions in the City and answered questions from Committee members. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Mr. Connolly commented that in the last ten years the City has made a lot of progress and is on the right path. ADJOURN The meeting adjourned at 5:41 p.m.
