MINUTES OF THE OCCUPANCY TAX BOARD MEETING Tuesday, March 20, 2018 Regular Meeting 2:30 P.M. Committee Chair: Jim Fielding Committee Members: Kerry Moore, Jill Cleveland, Roxanne Slayton, Josh Ragsdale Staff Coordinator: Allison Gray CALL TO ORDER AND WELCOME – The regular meeting of the Occupancy Tax Board convened at 2:32 p.m. ROLL CALL Members Present: Chair Jim Fielding, Kerry Moore, Roxanne Slayton Members absent: Josh Ragsdale, Jill Cleveland A quorum was present. Staff Present: Allison Gray, Tourism & Events Manager, Juanita Jennings, Director of Public Affairs Others present: Councilor Judy Stubbs APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Ms. Moore motioned to approve the agenda. Ms. Slayton seconded the motion. A voice vote was unanimous (3-0) and the motion passed with members Ragsdale and Cleveland being absent. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Ms. Moore motioned to approve the minutes from the January 16, 2018 OTB Meeting. Ms. Slayton seconded the motion. A voice vote was unanimous (3- 0) and the motion passed with members Ragsdale and Cleveland being absent. PUBLIC COMMENTS - There were no public comments. REGULAR ITEMS (Action Items): 1. Discuss, consider applications and make recommendation for OTB Committee Position 4 – Tourist Related, term expiring 3/31/2018 Chair Fielding opened up the discussion of reviewing and considering the applications for the OTB Committee Position 4 – Tourist Related, term expiring 3/31/2018. Mr. Fielding stated that there were two applications to be considered, one from Miranda Howe and one from Elaine Dotts. Discussion of the applications took place. Ms. Moore made a motion that the OTB Committee accepts Elaine Dotts as their inductee. Ms. Slayton seconded the motion. A voice vote was unanimous (3-0) and the motion passed with members Ragsdale and Cleveland being absent. Other Business / Non-Action Items / Information Items / Reports (Non-Action Items): 2. Lodgers Tax 2018 deadline review a. Applications due April 6, 2018 b. April 6, 2018 applications are reviewed at April 17, 2018 OTB Meeting c. Applications due August 3, 2018 d. August 3, 2018 applications are reviewed at August 14, 2018 OTB Meeting Ms. Gray reviewed the Lodgers Tax deadlines and application reviewing dates. 3. Reports The Lodgers Tax reports were reviewed and included information on the forfeited Lodgers Tax funds for Rowell Kick It 3v3 Soccer Tournament, Rotary Desert Sun Class Golf Tournament and the cancelled John Chisum Cowtown. ADJOURN Mr. Fielding requested a motion for adjournment. Ms. Moore motioned to adjourn. Ms. Slayton seconded the motion. A voice vote was unanimous (3-0) and the motion passed with members Ragsdale and Cleveland being absent. The meeting was adjourned at 2:53 p.m. Next Meeting: Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
