MINUTES OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION July 20, 2015 REGULAR MEETING 6:00 P.M. Call to order Chair, Bob Edwards, called the July 20, 2015 meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. In Attendance The following were present: Members: Chair Bob Edwards, Vice Chair Mandy Owens, Barry Mathison, James Edwards, Jim Waldrip, and JaneAnn Oldrup. Staff Present included Parks and Recreation Director Tim Williams, Administrative Assistant Lisa Rosales, Charlie Ward, Spring River Zoo Superintendent Elaine Mayfield and Jim Burress Guest: None Approval of Agenda JaneAnn Oldrup made a motion, seconded by Mandy Owens, to approve the agenda as presented. All were in favor motion carried, the July 20, 2015 agenda was approved. Approval of Minutes JaneAnn Oldrup made a motion, seconded by Barry Mathison, to approve the June 15, 2015 minutes, all were in favor and motion carried, the June 15, 2015 minutes were approved. Non-Action Items 2. Staff Update Parks and Recreation Director Tim Williams introduced Charlie Ward as a new staff member at Yucca Recreation. Mr. Ward gave a brief description of his history. Mr. Williams also introduced the new Parks Supervisor Jim Burress. Mr. Burress gave a description on ideas that he has for the department and informed the Commission on other properties he is also in charge of. 3. Cahoon Pool Update In June the total public attendance was 5,960. As of July 19, 2015 there were 3,681, for a total of 9,641 public attendances. We encumbered $12,000 to buy so toys/inflatables to make the pool more enjoyable. Regular Items 4. Vote on Field Allocation Policy and Procedure Approval Mr. Williams presented the Field Allocation Policy and Procedures and after a lengthy discussion and a few changes suggested by the Parks and Recreation Commissioners, JaneAnn Oldrup made a motion, seconded by Jim Waldrip, to pass the Field Allocation Policy and Procedure to the General committee. Other Business 5. Public Comments None Adjourn JaneAnn Oldrup made a motion, seconded by Mandy Owens to adjourn the Parks and Commission Meeting. The Parks and Recreation Commission meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m.
