Public Safety Committee Meeting
Held at Roswell City Hall Large Conference Room
Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 4:30 p.m.
Notice of this meeting was given to the public in compliance with Sections 10-15-1 through 10-15-4,
NMSA 1978 and Resolution 22-14.
The meeting convened at 4:30 p.m. with Councilor Julianna Halvorson presiding, Councilor Sanchez
present, Councilor Barry Foster, and Councilor Jeanine Best being absent. NO QUORUM
Staff Present: Mike Mathews, Deputy City Manager; Matt Miller, Chief RFD; Teri Best, PVRCC; Karen
Sanders, Emergency Management; Gabe Han, City of Roswell; Jared Olive, RFD; Jim Burress, Special
Services Administrator; Phil Smith, Chief RPD; Todd Verciglio, Property; Kevin Maevers, Community
Development; Shantel Mairot, Animal Control; Terri Harber, RDR.

5. Department and project updates, Kevin Meavers did a presentation on the project at the
Sunwest Building and discussed the anticipated date of completion. Chief Miller presented an update on
progress at fire station #4 and the overnight event of a possible water hammer and leak in the station.
CHAIR/ANNOUNCEMENTS/MONTHLY REPORTS
6. Monthly Reports for Police, Fire, Consolidated Dispatch, Emergency Management and Animal
Control departments are located in the Public Safety Committee agenda packet.
