seconded the motion and passed unanimously.
The Second Order of Business was a Public Hearing requesting approval for variances to
dimensional requirements for an accessory building, located 2001 Bradley Lane, in an R-1
zone, submitted by David T. Bunton, as follows:
2c) Code Section 3.1.2(C) - a variance of 4’ to allow a rear yard setback of 8’
2a) Code Section 3.1.2(B) - 10’ variance to allow an overall height of 34’

(BOA.14.06.3606)
Mr. Burton said he wanted to move an historic building to his residence. There will be
architectural similarity between the primary residence and this building. I will need the
approval of the four mentioned variances.
City Planner Harris said in my opinion if you feel that you can put this building on this lot
and still be in conformity with the spirit and intent of the zoning code, which is not to let
people put accessory building on their property and make visual negative impact on the
neighborhood. He does have unique circumstances on this lot that is at least twice or three
times as big as nearly any of the lots around him. The lot is higher than the surrounding
area by several feet and has a lot of vegetated barrier. Since the architectural similarity
between the primary residence and proposed accessory building, I think this is a reasonable
request. All the neighbors were notified and seemed okay with it.
Member Standridge made the motion to approve the four variances as submitted. The
motion was seconded by Member Sims and passed unanimously.
Adjourned.
