BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES March, 2019 The Board of Adjustment held its regular monthly meeting on Monday. March 25, 2019 at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Members Present Acting-Chair Wendell Miller Secretary Karen Yarbrough Justin Cothren Members Absent Chairman Lannis Nicholson Steve Hubbard Visitors Present: Mayor Richard Harris, Contract Planner Kevin Gambrill, City Attorney Trey Smith, Planning Assistant Lequitta Jones, Public Works Director Kenneth Duvall, Building Official Brian Holstein, Floodplain Manager Ben Gray, and James Dunbar. Welcome Visitors Welcomed Justin Cothren to serve on the Board of Adjustment. The First Order of Business a request to review and approve the minutes of the January 28, 2019 meeting. Member Yarbrough made the motion to approve the minutes as written. The motion was seconded by Member Cothren and passed unanimously. The Second Order of Business a request to approve an 11.8 foot front yard setback from the required 25 feet to remodel a non-conforming structure, located at 114 West 7th Street. Submitted by James Dunbar d/b/a Classic Restoration (BOA.19.03.3645) This request is to allow an existing structure to retain its current front building façade to property line setback of 13.2 feet in lieu of the required 25 feet. The amount of relief needed is 11.8 feet. The non-conforming with respect to the front setback regulations in older, established buildings is a continuation of an existing non-conforming use. The staff recommends approval. Member Yarbrough made the motion to approve the request.
