Police
Chief Humphrey verified the upcoming promotional testing. The written test will take place on
Saturday, March 1, 2014 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Police Department.
Fire Department
Chief Cochran reported that the Firefighter/Driver certified list would expire in May. The
Captain certified list expires in August. He asked the commission to set a date as soon as
possible so that notice could be made and applicants would have plenty of time to study and
prepare. Chief Cochran requested that the tests be given in June. He reminded the commission
that in the past, the written examination was usually given on a Saturday, and the assessment
center and oral interviews conducted the following week. This was due in part to the fact that
most of the assessors were staff employees who worked Monday through Friday. After a brief
discussion, the following schedule was set:
Written Exam June 7, 2014, 8:00 a.m. 1st Floor Conference Room, City Hall
Assessment Center June 12, 2014, 8:00 a.m. 1st Floor Conference Room, City Hall
Oral Interviews June 12, 2014, 1:00 p.m. 2nd Floor Conference Room, City Hall
Toni Bachman, James Campbell and Garrie Kellam will be available to proctor the written
examinations.
Chief Cochran advised that they would be using the same basic material, however, some of the
textbooks had been updated and they would be using the current version.
