Council Meeting

Regular Council Meeting March 10, 2025 Mayor Stan Townsend called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. In attendance were Darwin Sietsema, Brian Baartman, Chris McCurdy, Stu Peterson. Also in attendance were Terry Baumgard, Glen Petersen, Darrin Haroldson and Rochelle VanderWoude. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all those in attendance. Minutes of the February meeting was approved by M/Petersen 2/Baartman/cd unanimously. Terry Baumgard was invited to the meeting along with City Attorney Glen Petersen to discuss purchasing Terry’s property along Norway Street for the potential site for the new water tower. After some discussion, Terry stated that he would not take less than $50,000.00 for the property. Discussion was immediately over, and no other action was taken. Blighted properties were discussed with City Attorney Glen Petersen. Wastewater Supervisor Darrin Haroldson gave the council his report for the month of February and answered the council’s questions. The February bills were presented and approved by M/Sietsema 2/Peterson/cd unanimously. Receipts = $13,674.57 Disbursements = $22,162.11 It was approved to sign two (2) Good Neighbor Agreements with Box Car Wind for ground that surrounds the Well-site and the Sewer Ponds by M/Baartman 2/Sietsema/cd unanimously. The city will receive $1,000.00 each year during development and project operations. A donation was received and accepted for the Cemetery Fund by the Marilyn Peters family by M/Baartman 2/Peterson/cd unanimously.
