Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes Regular Meeting Minutes October 4, 2023 6:00 PM The Parks and Recreation Commission of the Town of Sahuarita met in the Sahuarita Council Chambers, 375 West Sahuarita Center Way, Sahuarita, AZ 85629 on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. I. Approval of Meeting Minutes Gina Anderson Motioned Shel Zatkin 2nd Motion was made to approve the minutes for June 07, 2023. RESULT: APPROVED [UNANIMOUS] AYES: Allen, Ahern, Thomas, Ahern, Anderson, Zatkin V. PRCS DIRECTOR UPDATE Director Devin Stalder shared PRCS performance measures and metrics. PowerPoint presentation presented. Discussion of prioritizing maintenance of existing park amenities such as shade structures and bathrooms in the FY25 budget process. Reinforcing our organizational chart by strategically creating positions in operations. Future Projects in the near feature to set the foundation. Maintenance Yard Expansion Community Center Anamax Recreation Center - Updates/Remodel Events - Support - Events have doubled in size Increase amenities in parks Adequate supporting equipment for operations. Commission members want more pickleball courts due to increased demand, with players of all ages enjoying the sport's rising popularity. The calendar dates will need to be approved by the commission members through a roll call vote.
