Town Council Meeting Agenda Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02 notice is hereby given to the public that the Sahuarita Town Council will hold a meeting at the date and time specified below at the Sahuarita Council Chambers, 375 West Sahuarita Center Way, Sahuarita, AZ. Members of the Town of Sahuarita Council will attend either in person or by telephone conference call. To better serve our community, the Sahuarita Council Chambers is wheelchair accessible. Persons with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation, such as a sign language interpreter, by contacting the Town Clerk’s Office at 520-822-8801. Invocation The Invocation will be given by Pastor John Leonard, from Cornerstone Baptist Church. Our invocations are provided by volunteers, and presenters will be accepted and welcomed regardless of religious affiliation. Interested parties may contact the Town Clerk. 3. Call to the Public At this time, any member of the public is invited to address the Town Council on any issue which is on tonight’s Consent Agenda or on any issue which the Town Council can lawfully act upon at a future meeting. Written comments regarding any item on the agenda or on any issue which the Town Council can lawfully act upon may be submitted prior to the beginning of the council meeting for distribution to the Town Council. Pursuant to the Arizona Open Meeting Laws, the Council may not discuss the items, but individual members of the Council may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the Council, may ask staff to review the matter, or may ask that the matter be placed on a future agenda. 7. Adoption of Resolution No. 2018-0538, authorizing the Town to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement, Sahuarita Contract No. 180050, with the Pima County Recorder’s Office for Election Services for the 2018 Election cycle. C. Adoption of Resolution No. 2018-0540, authorizing the Town to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement, Sahuarita Contract No. 180052, to accept a grant in the amount of $5,000 from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety, to implement successful pedestrian and bicycle education and enforcement strategies aimed at reducing motor vehicle-related pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities and injuries; in effect from January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018. D. Adoption of Resolution No. 2018-0542, authorizing the Town to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement, Sahuarita Contract No. 180053, to accept a grant in the amount of $23,750 from the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission to purchase fingerprinting equipment in furtherance of the goals and objectives of the National Crime History Improvement Program, in effect from March 1, 2018 through March 31, 2019; and to amend the Grants and Restricted Sources fund budget, increasing the Police Department revenues and expenditures by $23,280. E. Approval of Sahuarita Contract No. 180051, with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., for the preparation of plans to accompany the Duval Mine Road mill and overlay project, commencing March 27, 2018 and terminating June 30, 2018; in an amount not to exceed $38,547. 8. Public hearing, discussion and possible adoption of Ordinance No. 2018-129, relating to Title 18 of the Sahuarita Town Code (Zoning), adopting "The March 2018 Amendments to Title 18 (Zoning Code) of the Sahuarita Town Code relating to Sign Standards" by reference, Resolution No. 2018- 0539 and repealing, all Resolutions, Ordinances, and Rules of the Town of Sahuarita in conflict therewith. Action recommended: adopt the Ordinance. 9. Public hearing, discussion and possible adoption of Ordinance No. 2018-131, amending certain sections of Chapter 18.71 of Title 18 of the Sahuarita Town Code (Zoning) relating to Development Plan Standards for the purposes of removing the requirement for a Development Plan Amendment to be submitted to the Planning and Zoning Division for a relatively small expansion in terms of percentage of square footage, and repealing all Resolutions, Ordinances, and Rules of the Town of Sahuarita in conflict therewith. Possible adoption of Ordinance No. 2018-130, extending and increasing the Corporate Limits of the Town of Sahuarita, Arizona, pursuant to the provisions of Title 9, Chapter 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, and Amendments thereto, by annexing thereto that territory known as the La Posada Park Centre Annexation, encompassing property in Section 13, Township 18 South, Range 13 East, of the Gila and Salt River Base and Meridian, Pima County, Arizona, and contiguous to the Town’s boundaries, and translating the zoning of the subject parcels from Pima County Zone CR-5 (Multiple Residence Zone) to Town of Sahuarita Zone R-5 (Multiple Residence Zone); Pima County Zone CB-1 (Local Business Zone) to Town of Sahuarita Zone B-1 (Local Business Zone); Pima County Zone CB-2 (General Business Zone) to Town of Sahuarita Zone B-2 (General Business Zone); and Pima County Zone TR (Transitional Zone) to Town of Sahuarita Zone NC (Neighborhood Commercial Zone).
