Town Council Meeting Agenda Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.02 notice is hereby given to the public that the Sahuarita Town Council will hold a meeting at the date and time specified below at the Sahuarita Council Chambers, 375 West Sahuarita Center Way, Sahuarita, AZ. Members of the Town of Sahuarita Council will attend either in person or by telephone conference call. To better serve our community, the Sahuarita Council Chambers is wheelchair accessible. Persons with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation, such as a sign language interpreter, by contacting the Town Clerk’s Office at 520-822-8801. Call to Order 2. Invocation The Invocation will be given by Father Juan Carlos Aguirre from San Martin De Porres Roman Catholic Church. Our invocations are provided by volunteers, and presenters will be accepted and welcomed regardless of religious affiliation. Interested parties may contact the Town Clerk. 3. Pledge of Allegiance The Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Sophia Nastase, a ninth grade student at Walden Grove High School. 4. Roll Call 5. Approval of Agenda Action recommended: approve the agenda. 6. Call to the Public At this time, any member of the public is invited to address the Town Council on any issue which is on tonight’s Consent Agenda or on any issue which the Town Council can lawfully act upon at a future meeting. Written comments regarding any item on the agenda or on any issue which the Town Council can lawfully act upon may be submitted prior to the beginning of the council meeting for distribution to the Town Council. Pursuant to the Arizona Open Meeting Laws, the Council may not discuss the items, but individual members of the Council may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the Council, may ask staff to review the matter, or may ask that the matter be placed on a future agenda. 7. Adoption of Resolution No. 2018-0563, approving a lot split of Lot 7 of the Final Plat of Duval 19 Commercial Center, Pima County, Arizona (Tax Parcel No. 303-33-5370). 8. Discussion and possible adoption of Resolution No. 2018-0565, declaring and adopting the results of the Town of Sahuarita Primary Election held on August 28, 2018. Action recommended: approve the Resolution. 9. Discussion and possible adoption of Resolution No. 2018-0564, authorizing the Town to enter into Amendment Two (2) and renewal of Town of Sahuarita Contract No. 180035, an Intergovernmental Agreement with Sahuarita Unified School District No. 30, for the purpose of providing law enforcement education, training and investigative functions by assigning a School Resource Officer to Sahuarita High School under the School Safety Program, which shall be funded utilizing excess school safety grant monies awarded to the Sahuarita Unified School District No. 30 through the State of Arizona Department of Education. Action recommended: approve the IGA. 10. Discussion and possible action regarding the design and design elements of the buildings the Town is constructing in the Sahuarita Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center (SAMTEC). Action recommended: pleasure of the Council. 11. Council and Town Manager Reports and Requests EXECUTIVE SESSION 12. Executive Session pursuant to A.R.S. §38-431.03 (A) (1) for the evaluation of the Town Magistrate, and discussion regarding the Town Magistrate position, and the employment agreement with Town Magistrate Maria M. Avilez, which will expire on December 31, 2018, unless extended. CONTINUATION OF REGULAR MEETING 13. Discussion and possible action regarding the Town Magistrate position and the employment agreement with Town Magistrate Maria M. Avilez, which will expire on December 31, 2018, and possible extension, amendment, or restatement of the contract. Action recommended: pleasure of the Council. 14. Adjournment Action may be taken by the Town Council on any item listed on this agenda. The Town Council may vote to go into executive session pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.03 (A) (3) for discussion or consultation for legal advice with the Town Attorney concerning any matter listed on this agenda.
