AGENDA FOR REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL MAY 8, 2024 7:00 PM COURT ROOM OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING At approximately 6:30 PM, the Mayor and Council will hold a work session in the Conference Room for the purpose of reviewing agenda items and signing bills. A resolution approving and dispensing with the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting of April 24, 2024 and the special meeting of April 24, 2024. OLD BUSINESS: NEW BUSINESS: 3. NO ACTION TAKEN - A resolution adopting a Local Law for 2024 which will amend the Zoning Law of the City of Salamanca to change the Use District Classification of a lot on Center Street, S.B.L. No. 73.061-1-3 from R1 Single-Family Residential to AC Agricultural Conservation District, as recommended by the Planning Commission. Note; This will be referred to the Cattaraugus County Planning Board and a public hearing will be scheduled. Sponsor: Council Member Smith 4. A resolution appointing Cynthia Smith, Salamanca, NY as Provisional Assessor Trainee, in the Assessment/Zoning/Code Enforcement Office, effective May 13, 2024, at an annual salary of $43,500.00, contingent on being reachable on the Civil Service List, according to the Non-Union Employee Benefits and additional terms. A resolution confirming the appointment and removal of Dakoda Wilson, Salamanca, NY as Department of Public Works Seasonal Part-Time Laborer, effective May 6, 2024, at $17.20 per hour, for 8 hours of training. Sponsor: Council Member Hill 6. A resolution accepting the quote of Valley Fab Equipment Inc., Boston, NY for the purchase of two new stainless-steel dump truck bodies for the DPW, under NYS Office of General Services bid # PC68951, in the amount $31,040.00, as approved in the 2024-2025 Budget. Sponsor: Council Member Hill 7. A resolution accepting the quote of Cyncon Equipment, Inc., Rush, NY for the purchase of one new DPW Stepp MFG Trailer Mounted Recycler Master Mix/Asphalt machine, under NYS Office of General Services bid # PC68930, in the amount $63,968.00, as approved in the 2024-2025 Budget. A resolution approving and adopting the updated City of Salamanca Sexual Harassment Policy to bring the City compliant with the NYS current updates, requirements and terminology. Sponsor: Mayor Magiera 10. A resolution authorizing the closing of a portion of Broad Street on Memorial Day, May 27, 2024, for a parade and ceremony. Sponsor: Mayor Magiera 11. Certain appointments by the Mayor and Common Council. 12. A resolution to waive the agenda rule to consider other items(s), if necessary.  A resolution confirming the appointment of Brittany DeGroat, Salamanca, NY as Department of Public Works Seasonal Part-Time Laborer, effective May 6, 2024, at $17.20 per hour, up to 30 hours per week.
