Scholarship & Education Committee Meeting – Draft Minutes
Monday, October 17, 2022, 6:30 P.M., meeting held remotely
Members Present: Tyler Carlton (Chair), Brian Eiermann, Lynne Mullen, Liz McGovern, Andrew
Boucher, Sam Lim, Gabriel Yeager
Staff Present: Dominick Pangallo
1. Call to Order: 6:32 p.m.
2. Approval of September 12, 2022 minutes: Approved 6-0-1
3. Financial Updates:
Education Fund Scholarship Fund
September receipts: $0 September receipts: $0
October 1 balance: $8,826.00 October 1 balance: $4,851.00
4. Old Business
a. Fundraising Updates: The City Council will vote on Thursday October 20th to accept the
$7,500 donation from ATG for the Scholarship Fund, which will bring that fund balance to
over $12,350. Liz asked if a thank you letter had been sent and Dominick confirmed that it
had.
b. Logo: No updates, contest is still running. This item will be removed from future agendas
until the contest ends on December 11th.
5. New Business
a. Review Education Fund grant applications: Tyler shared that no applications were
received. On a motion from Lynne, seconded by Sam, the committee voted 7-0 to keep the
application window open and extend the deadline to 5:00 p.m. on December 5 th. Liz asked
if there had been any change in how the grant application period was promoted this time
and Dominick replied that there had not been. He said he would re-promote the program
with the new deadline. Lynne suggested adding to the announcements and the application
examples of past grant award recipients, so applicants would have an idea as to what had
been funded successfully in the past. Tyler and Dominick agreed to do so.

If any public comment is permitted, members of the public who have “raised their hand” in
Zoom will be called on by the chair to offer comment. In order to raise a hand, member of the
public using the Zoom computer or phone application may click the “Raise Hand” button;
members of the public dialing in may press “*9” to raise their hand to speak.
No in-person attendance of members of the public will be permitted, but every effort will be
made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time, via
technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so, despite best efforts, we will post
on the city’s website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of
proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting.
