Public comments generally are limited to two minutes per speaker; the Mayor may
further limit the time for public comments depending on the agenda schedule.
GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENTS
Receive public communications from the audience on items that are not on the agenda
and that are in the City of Salinas’ subject matter jurisdiction . Comments on Consent,
Consideration, and Closed session items should be held until the items are reached.
The public may request that the City Council consider adding an item for consideration
on a future agenda. The public may comment on scheduled agenda items, including
closed session items, as they are considered. In order to be respectful of all speakers’
views and to avoid disruption of the meeting, the audience shall refrain from applauding
or jeering speakers who have been recognized by the Mayor.
COUNCILMEMBERS’ REPORTS, APPOINTMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Receive communication from Councilmembers on reports, appointments and future

Recommendation: Adopt a RESOLUTION approving plans and specifications for the Sanitary Sewer
Pipeline and Manhole Repair/Rehabilitation at Various Locations; Project No. 9126; and
authorize issuance of invitation to bid, with bids to be opened on June 17, 2014.

Recommendation: Adopt a RESOLUTION accepting Cesar Chavez Park Improvements, Project No. 9023,

Recommendation: Adopt a RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor to execute an Agreement between City of
Salinas and PlaceWorks.
ID#13-258 North Boronda Road FGA Reimbursement Ordinance
Recommendation: Introduce an ORDINANCE providing for the reimbursement of costs associated with the
annexation and entitlement of lands within the North of Boronda Future Growth Area .
ID#13-269 Workers’ Compensation Third Party Administrator Professional Services
Agreement
Recommendation: Adopt a RESOLUTION authorizing the City Manager to sign a Professional Services
Agreement (PSA) with CorVel Enterprise Comp, Inc. for the administration of the City's
Workers' Compensation Program.
PUBLIC HEARING
ID#13-249 2014 Special Assessment for Collection of Unpaid Charges from Property
Owners
Recommendation: Adopt a RESOLUTION confirming charges from calendar years 2011 to 2013, of
unpaid nuisance abatement charge, administrative penalty, administrative cost, or other
debt on 133 properties within the City of Salinas, and direct the Finance Director to
collect the unpaid charges from the property owners in the same manner as ordinary
municipal taxes.
ID#13-267 Third Amendment to FY 2013-14 and FY 2004-05 Action Plans to change
the use of the Sherwood Hall and the Salinas Community Center facilities
located at 940 North Main Street from a primary use as Public Facilities to
use as a Charter High School.
Recommendation: Adopt a RESOLUTION approving the Third Amendment to FY 2013-14 and FY 2004-05
ACTION PLANS to allow for the change of use of Sherwood Hall and the Salinas
Community Center (SCC) facilities from a primary use as Public Facilities to use as a
Charter High School focusing on education in the arts and digital media technologies, to
be operated by Millennium Charter High School, Inc. (MCHS).
ID#13-279 Republic Services Garbage and Recycling Rates for FY 2014-15
Recommendation: Adopt a RESOLUTION approving the proposed annual adjustments to Republic
Services of Salinas' (Republic Services) Schedule of Service Fees and Schedule of
Rates for Residential and Commercial Customers.
