California HCD Income limits annual adjustments once posted by the State HCD

Upon motion by Councilmember Craig, second by Councilmember McShane,
Resolution 21059 authorizing the direct purchase of an upgrade to the recording
equipment in the three interview rooms at the Salinas Police Department
through Taser International with a total cost of $51,084.71 with a first year cost of
$30,348.76 and years 2-5 cost of $5,164.00 was approved. The motion carried by
the following vote:

COUNCILMEMBERS’ REPORTS, APPOINTMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Councilmember McShane reported that he will be hosting an electric vehicle test drive
and community meeting in collaboration with the Transportation Agency for Monterey
County and the Monterey Bay Unified Air Pollution Control District on October 24, 2016.
He reported that the Neighborhood Beautification Grants application process is now open
and are due on October 20. Councilmember McShane requested an update on the
Welcome Center.
Councilmember Lutes requested a joint meeting with District 4 and 6. She reported that
she attended the monthly Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority meeting.
Councilmember De La Rosa attended the Korean-American Symphony that took place at
Sherwood Hall and stated it was an exceptional event.
Councilmember Barrera provided a written report outlining the Monterey Salinas Transit
(MST) Plan for repairs and installation of bus shelters. Councilmember Barrera
commended Salinas Police Chief Kelly McMillin for his years of service.
Councilmember Craig commended Salinas Police Chief Kelly McMillin for his years of
dedicated service to the City. She reported she will not be attending the City Council
meeting on October 4 as she will be in her in-residency at the Naval Post Graduate
School. Councilmember Craig reported she has a meeting on September 29 with the with
the Animal Services Subcommittee to continue the dialogue regarding the consolidation
of both the City and County shelters.
Mayor Gunter commended the Korean-American community for an exceptional symphony
they held at Sherwood Hall. He further added that he met with a delegation from Ansan,

Korea who expressed interest in establishing sister city relationship with the City.
