Shawn Robba spoke about Alta Canyon Sports Center.
Stephanie Jewell, Board Chair at Alta Canyon Sports Center requested further discussion
with the City Council about the future of the Center.
Carol Lucas spoke about Alta Canyon Sports Center.

1. 19-176 Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and Sandy presenting the FY
2019-2020 Tentative Budget.
Attachments: Recommendation from PU Advisory Board
Mike DeVries, General Manager of the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and
Sandy presented information about the Metro Water District's FY 2019-20 budget.
Tom Godfrey, Chair, Don Milne, Vice-Chair, John Kirkham, Board Member were also in
attendance.

Council Member Robinson presented his draft policy to the Council.
Council Member Nicholl presented an alternative draft policy for the Council's
consideration.
A motion was made by Kristin Coleman-Nicholl, seconded by Zach Robinson, to
bring this policy and bring back next week. The motion carried by the following
vote:

3. 19-182 City Council Office recommending that the City Council elect a Chair and
Vice Chair.
Per Council policy ballots were distributed to the Council to elect its officers.
Council Member McCandless was elected Chair on the first ballot.
There was no election for vice-chair on the first ballot. A second ballot was taken. There
was no election. A third ballot was taken. Council Member Saville was elected Vice-Chair
on the third ballot.

4. 19-181 Continued Public Hearing to Receive Comment on Fiscal Year 2019-2020

Council Member Robinson presented a funding package for the FY 2019-20 budget.
Council discussion followed.
Steve Van Maren spoke about several budget items.
Roger Harding addressed a potential property tax increase and bond.
Sandra Hawk spoke in favor of getting more information on all possible tax increases.
A motion was made by Brooke Christensen, seconded by Chris McCandless, that
this the Public Hearing to Receive Comment on Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Tentative
Budget be continued next week. The motion carried by the following vote:

on all voting items. Each speaker is allowed three minutes per voting item. The Citizen Comment sections of the
meeting are for issues not listed on the agenda. Each speaker is allowed three minutes to address the Council
during Citizen Comments. If a citizen is unable to attend a meeting in person, he or she may provide written
comments to the City Council Executive Director by 3:00 PM the day of the Council Meeting to have those
comments distributed to the City Council and have them read into the record at the appropriate time.
