Theseneighbors stronglysupport2hourparkinginthisarea. MayorKimstatedwhenhefirstcameintoofficehemetwiththeschooldistrictandtheywerenot forthcoming; theydidn’twanttodiscuss this. Commissioner Golubstatedtakingspecificstreetsoutoftheequationforparkingonlypushestheproblem tootherareas. Thereareotherstreetsthatareequaldistancetotheschoolandthereforetheparkingwouldbespreadout. Commissioner Sanghvistatedthisisafrustrating experience andtryingtofigureoutaresultthatwillnot endwiththesamesituationelsewhere. Sheaskedifaconversation canbehadwiththeschoolprincipal or boardofeducation. Commissioner Montagnino statedhemetwiththesuperintendent todiscussthisissue. Aresidentstatedtheparentsofthestudentswhodrivecanhelpsolvethisissuebyputtingpressure onthe school. Commissioner GolubaskedforJulyandAugusttostudythisproblemandcomeupwithasolution. Community businessandgovernment needstocometogethertoprioritizesafety. Lt.AngelaMcGovern led thesafetyworkshops. Thecommunication betweenthePoliceDepartment and thedowntown businesses hasdrastically improved. Barownersandemployees havebeenvigilantabout warningeachotherofissues. Lt.McGovern gavecredittothedowntown businesses whoareparticipating inthecommunication.
