The Commission reported that the East Side Rec. looks great. Public Comment 1. Discussion and Vote: Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes – The motion to accept the meeting minutes was made by Derrick Legal and seconded by Michelle Merola. Approved unanimously. 2. Discussion and Vote: 2021 Fees – The motion to accept the meeting minutes was made by Derrick Legall and seconded by Michelle Merola. Discussion: The Recreation Commission went through the 2021 fees and discussed the fee increases. There will not be an eight week discount fee only weekly fees. Field fees were discussed and the amount of wear and tear there were on the fields. The Race Track parking fee would be increased $1. The Recreation Center rental fees were increased. Pickleball increased to $4/$5 to be the same as Open Public/Family Skate. Intro to Ice was increased to $65 from $60. The Department was adding $5 increases. Approved unanimously. 3. Discussion and Vote: Lights at East Side Recreation Complex – The motion to recommend the light schedule at the East Side Recreation Complex be until 10pm from Memorial Day through Labor day and until 8:30pm during the offseason based on weather. The Recreation Commission discussed the lights at East Side Rec. as well as other organizations, i.e. Albany, Clifton Park, Guilderland and Bethlaham. The recommendation was to have the lights on until 10pm during the summer and 8:30pm in the offseason. Approved unanimously. 4. Discussion and Vote: Election – Chair and Vice Chair – The motion to elect Derrick Legall as Chair and Amy Smith as Vice Chair was made by Cheryl Smith and seconded by John Dowd. Discussion and Vote: 2021 Meeting Schedule – The motion to approve the 2021 Recreation Commission meeting schedule was made by Derrick Legall and seconded by Michelle Merola. Approved unanimously. 6. Discussion and Vote: 2020 Purchases – The motion to approve the 2020 purchase was made by Robert Manasier and seconded by Cheryl Smith. Discussion: Soccer nets needed replacing $1,000 and $1,500 supplies. Jerseys were needed up to $5,800. Sport supplies were needed. General supplies were needed up to $1,500. Basketballs were needed $1,931. PPC items up to $1,079.70. There was no money for bases. Robert Manasier and Michelle Merola said to spend the money. Approved unanimously. 7. Discussion: Open Space Steering Committee – A report was given to the Recreation Commission. Cheryl Smith was the liason. 8. Discussion: 2021 Budget – The 2021 Budget was discussed at length. 9. Discussion: School Capital & Great Outdoors Projects – The Great Outdoor project was pretty much complete. On October 31, 2020, the East Side Recreation Complex was open to the public. The ten pickleball courts were used. 10. Discussion: General Budget – The Recreation Commission reviewed and discussed the financial reports. 11. Discussion: Directors Report – John Hirliman gave the Directors Report. Everyone was fully masked who are participating in programs. 12. Discussion: Program Report – The Recreation Commission reviewed the program statistics. Tiny T’ball maxed out. The program numbers have been limited. Recreation Commission members were reappointed by the Mayor. Have a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving. Adjournment – The Recreation Commission meeting adjourned at 7:33pm.
