Discussion and Vote: Minutes – The motion to approve the December 8, 2020 minutes was made by Amy Smith and seconded by John Dowd. All Ayes 2. Discussion and Vote: Crystal Arpei-McHugh Intro to Ice donation $10.00 – The motion to accept the $10.00 donation from Crystal Arpei-McHugh was made by Amy Smith and seconded by Derrick Legall. Discussion and Vote: Mayor Scott Johnson Donation – The motion accept the fitness equipment from Mayor Scott Johnson was made by Amy Smith and seconded by Michelle Merola. Discussion: DPW was on board and agreed to accept the fitness equipment. All Ayes. The equipment is: Parabody Weight Station, professional grade, that really does everything, in a fairly compact space (footprint about 8’ x 8’). True treadmill, with custom and programable programs options. Precor rowing machine, compact Protocols will be established and rules for the area. A $4.00/$5.00 fee will be established per one hour time slot. John Dowd recommended having Punch Card and mentioned that there will be a demand for it. All Ayes 5. Discussion and Vote: East Side Rec. Home Field for a Team in the Perfect Game League Albany Duchman is looking to utilize the East Side Recreation Field beginning in June. The School Baseball will be extended to end of June. John Dowd wanted to resume with the core user groups. At this time the City cannot accommodate the collegiate team. Discussion and Vote: Open Gym fee: $4.00 City Resident/$5.00 Non-City Resident The motion to establish $4.00 City Resident/$5.00 Non-City Resident fee for Open Gym & participants who qualify for scholarships will participate for free was made by Amy Smith and seconded by John Dowd. All Ayes. Discussion: The fee is the same as the Ice Rink one hour sessions. Participants will have to reserve a slot to participate. The Director is working with the task force. The YMCA had basketball hoop reservation during this winter. Michelle Merola said it made sense under the circumstances. Amy Smith said “I’m up for it.” The program will be after school prior to 5pm. 7. Discussion: Camp 2021 – Camp Saradac is looking to expand to East Side Rec. and Veterans Memorial Park. There will be 30 participants at each site. There will 70 participants at the Recreation Center along with Before and After Care. The Director recommended No 5/6 year olds at the offsite locations. The programs will be onsite. John Dowd recommended having it the same times and with a Friday trip to the beach/pool. The old concession stand at West Side could not fit 30 kids. John Dowd recommended having an alternative site if it is going to Rain all day. 8. Discussion: General Budget – The Recreation Commission reviewed the MUNIS budget reports. The Director and the Recreation Commission chair thanked the staff for their work on the budget. 9. Discussion: Directors Report – The Director gave his Directors Report to the Recreation Commission. Cheryl Smith reported on the Open Space Committee. 10. Discussion: Program Report – The Program Reports were reviewed by the Recreation Commission. Adjournment – The motion to adjourn was made by Cheryl Smith and seconded by Amy Smith at 7:22pm. The Next Meeting will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 6:30pm.
