May 16, 2018 ***VILLAGE BOARD MINUTES*** May 16, 2018 SAUKVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT 649 E Green Bay Ave SAUKVILLE, WISCONSIN Village President Barb Dickmann called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. Village Clerk Mary Kay Baumann gave the Statement of Public Notice. Members: Barb Dickmann-present, David Maglio-present, Joe Caban-present @ 8:05 p.m., Richard Belling- absent, Scott Fischer-present, Jim Nowlen-present, and Trevor Seitz-present Others Present: Dawn Wagner, Mary Kay Baumann, Chief Goetz, Chief Meyer, Ray deBruijn, Vicki Lee, Michelle Jaeger, and Mike Krocka PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE CITIZEN COMMENTS AND QUESTIONS None. APPROVE MINUTES OF MAY 1, 2018 MEETING Maglio/Seitz made a motion to approve the May 1, 2018 minutes as presented. Motion carried. COMMUNICATIONS REPORT FROM THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT Dickmann stated that Ed Paradowski has stepped down from the Community Development Authority. Dickmann requested a motion to approve the appointment of Mike Krocka as the new member of the Community Development Authority. Maglio/Seitz made a motion to approve the appointment of Mike Krocka to the Community Development Authority. Motion carried. Dickmann presented retiring Chief Goetz with a plaque recognizing his years of service. Goetz was also presented with his service revolver and a gift card. Dickmann thanked Goetz for his years of dedication to the Village. Retiring Chief Goetz performed the swearing in of the new Police Chief Robert Meyer. Chief Meyer thanked retiring Chief Goetz for his guidance, his wife for her patience and his family and friends for their continued support. REPORT FROM THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR Wagner thanked Chief Goetz for his years of service and welcomed Chief Meyer into his new position. ORDINANCES – RESOLUTIONS – PETITIONS REPORTS OF VILLAGE BOARD COMMITTEES Utility Committee No report. Public Works Committee No report. May 16, 2018 Public Safety Committee No report. Finance Committee Dickmann reported on the meeting of May 16, 2018. Claims for April in the amount of $237,840.49 were reviewed and approved. The Budget Watch and Investment Report were reviewed. A recommendation was made to the Village Board to approve South Tower Street Project – Rueckert & Mielke – Task Order – 2018-1. Maglio/Seitz made a motion to approve the South Tower Street Project – Rueckert & Mielke – Task Order – 2018-1. Motion carried. Other Matters: There is a Mid-Moraine Dinner to be held on Wednesday, May 23rd @ Messina’s. Anyone interested should contact Mary Kay. There will be a Town Hall Meeting regarding the Community Rivers Program on Wednesday, May 30th @ 6:00 p.m. at Riveredge Nature Center. Dickmann gave an overview of the “Written Word” Project for the new pavilion at Grady Park. Submittals are due by June 15th. The Village is soliciting donations for new benches in Grady Park. The Village is receiving a 2018 Ansay/Secura – Strengthening Community’s Fire Grant in the amount of $500. Port Washington State Bank is donating a new swing set to be installed at Grady Park. Mary Kay Baumann was chosen to receive a scholarship for the UW-Green Bay Master Academy (1-day tuition to Academy) for continuing education. The Village Board has a new photo posted on the Village web-site. Rendezvous will be held this weekend at Peninsula Park. The Lions Club will be holding a brat fry at Saukville Meats on Saturday. The Police Department will be holding an Open House on Thursday, May 17th from 1-3 p.m. for retiring Chief Goetz. Port Washington State Bank will be holding a shredding event this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – Noon. deBruijn gave an update on the pavilion at Grady Park. The construction phase is complete. Miller Electric is completing work on the electrical. The new sidewalk is done and landscaping is expected to be done next week. REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES Plan Commission No report. May 16, 2018 Community Development Authority/Industrial Review Committee Dickmann reported on the meeting of May 15, 2018. The Committee appointed a Chairperson and a Vice-Chairperson. An addition for Oldenburg Metal was reviewed and approved. Library Board No report. Mid-Moraine Municipal Association No report. OPERATOR’S LICENSE APPROVALS None. LIQUOR LICENSE APPROVALS None. CITIZEN MATTERS AS NOTICED None. ADJOURNMENT Nowlen/Seitz made a motion to adjourn.
