Village Board of Trustees

At the special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees Held June 2, 2026 Mayor Bucciferro called the meeting to order at 6:00p.m. PRESENT: Trustee Brown, Cook, Gray, Solotruck & Mayor Bucciferro MORATORIUM ON GAS STATION MOVED by Trustee Gray, seconded by Trustee Cook to table discussion. Ayes: Trustee Brown, Cook, Gray, Solotruck & Mayor Bucciferro Noes: None Abstentions: None ELECTRONIC PARK SIGN Superintendent Kedzior provided the Board with a memo outlining the request for purchasing an upgraded electronic park sign with the use of previously committed ARPA Funds and balance of the project to be funded by the Parkland Funds. Board supported the purchase; resolution will be on next week’s agenda. UPDATE ON NY FORWARD GRANT Mayor stated that he attended a meeting with the Department of State, state agencies related to funding and administration and consultant regarding the NY Forward Grant process. The State has identified a Chair for the Local Planning Commission; the commission is not able to hold any meetings until the Governor announces the remaining communities’ awards. Applicants that were presented in the application to the state will need to reapply for grant funding; funding is also available to those that were not included in original application. The Local Planning Committee will hold approximately five public meetings; in addition, three to four public hearings will be held throughout the process. The area designated for funding includes the waterfront and the Mohawk Avenue Corridor. Consultants hired by the state will be developing a website specific to the grant. Trustee Cook suggested Envision Scotia/Economic Group continue review of development in all areas within the Village. Trustee Solotruck suggested a monthly NY Forward Grant update. The work session scheduled for Monday, June 15th; rescheduled for Monday, June 22nd.
