a. Complete Streets Elements Worksheets and Flowchart
Urban Planner Maria Lancto and Traffic Engineer Danaca Schettler discussed the
complete streets flow chart and worksheets that have been developed to guide
decision making in regard to pedestrian and bicycle crossing treatments. It was
discussed that these policies generally exist, but the worksheets and flow chart will
consolidate that information. These worksheets will help staff make a
recommendation which will be brought to the Active Transportation Board for their
review and recommendation. Once the final draft is ready, these will be sent to board
members and discussed in further detail at the next meeting.
b. Crosswalks Report
Planning Projects Coordinator Jeff Schmitt presented the Crosswalks Report that was
prepared with collaboration from the Pedestrian Subcommittee. Discussion focused
on determining what stakeholders can do to implement the goals of the report,
marked vs unmarked crossings, and education of the general public.
c. Past Events Update
Senior Planner Fletcher Lacock summarized past events and engagement
opportunities. There was discussion on the Arrowhead Parkway and Veterans
Parkway intersection, specifically ADA concerns. Board members requested that
further discussion be held at the February meeting.
d. Upcoming Events
Bicycle subcommittee is scheduled for next Tuesday.
f. Committee Updates
Bicycle subcommittee and Pedestrian subcommittee provided updates earlier in the
meeting. There was not a representative from the PATH Safe Routes to School
Subcommittee.
