MINUTES Tuesday, August 19, 2014 CIP - Budget Hearings 3:00 PM Sioux Falls City Council Carnegie Town Hall 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Council Member Christine M. Erickson, Council Member Michelle Erpenbach, Council Member Greg Jamison, Council Member Dean Karsky, Council Member Rick Kiley, Council Member Rex Rolfing, Council Member Kermit L. Staggers Members Absent: Council Member Kenny Anderson Jr. and Mayor Mike T. Huether Staff Present: Denise D. Tucker, CMC, Assistant City Clerk; Lorie Hogstad, CMC, City Clerk; David Bixler, Budget Analyst; Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager CALL TO ORDER City Council Chair Dean Karsky called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager, reviewed a Shape Places reference sheet. It features the Zoning Interface: Districts and Forms for Sioux Falls Zoning Ordinance. Discussion followed. Lorie Hogstad, City Clerk, said next week there will be a 4:00 p.m. Informational Meeting and then a 5:00 p.m. Budget Meeting with the Minnehaha County Commission/City Council. Karsky stated he will not be at the meetings. Karsky said there hasn't been a working session scheduled yet. A working session was scheduled for Thursday, September 11th at 3:00 p.m. BUDGET HEARINGS A. Health Jill Franken, Director of Health, gave an overview of the 2015 Budget for the Health Department. Discussion followed. Vice Chair Kenny Anderson Jr. arrived at 3:12 p.m. B. Public Works Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works, gave an overview of the 2015 Budget for the Public Works Department. Discussion followed. City Council Chair Dean Karsky called for a 10 minute break at 4:45 p.m. The meeting resumed at 4:55 p.m. C. Community Development Darrin Smith, Director of Community Development and Public Parking, introduced his staff for their presentations. Les Kinstad, Affordable Housing Manager, gave an overview of the 2015 Budget for the Affordable Housing Department. Discussion followed. Brent O'Neil, Economic Development Manager, gave an overview of the 2015 Budget for the Economic Development Department. Discussion followed. D. Public Parking Matt Nelson, Public Parking Facilities Manager, gave an overview of the 2015 Budget for the Public Parking Department. Discussion followed. Adjournment City Council Chair Dean Karsky adjourned the meeting at 6:11 p.m. Denise D.
