Districting Commission Meetings

MINUTES Thursday, September 29, 2011 10:30 AM at Carnegie Town Hall Districting Commission Meeting 235 West Tenth Street  Note: There will be no audio or video recording of this meeting. Members Present: Lynne Keller Forbes, Mary Glenski, Rick Knobe, and Ann Randall Members Absent: Andy Traub Staff Present: Tamara Jorgensen, CMC, Assistant City Clerk; and Jeff Schmitt, Chief Planning and Zoning Official 1. Call To Order Forbes called the meeting to order at 10:30 a.m. 2. Approve Minutes Dated August 5, 2011 A motion was made by Rick Knobe and seconded by Mary Glenski to approve the minutes. Forbes asked for a voice vote and all members voted yes. Motion Passed. 3. Public Input There was none. 4. Review Public Hearing Comment Cards One comment card had been received and was reviewed. 5. Review Report to the City Council The report was reviewed and there were no recommended changes. A motion was made by Mary Glenski and seconded by Ann Randall to adopt this report and present it to the City Council at the City Council Meeting on Monday, October 17, 2011. Forbes asked for a voice vote and all members voted yes. Motion Passed. 6. Open Discussion This item is scheduled for first reading at the City Council Meeting on Monday, November 14, 2011 and for second reading at the City Council Meeting on Monday, November 21, 2011. Publication will occur on Friday, December 2, 2011 with an effective date of Thursday, December 22, 2011. The suggestion was made that future mailing cards should include terminology that clarifies that the districting changes do not affect a person’s taxes in any way. 7.
