Informational Meeting 4:00 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall
Sioux Falls City Council 235 West 10th Street
Members Present: Kenny Anderson Jr., Vernon Brown, Jim Entenman, Michelle Erpenbach, Greg Jamison, Bob Litz, Rex L. Rolfing, and Sue Aguilar.
Members Absent: Mayor Mike Huether.
Staff Present: Debra A. Owen, City Clerk/Chief of Council Operations, and Denise D. Tucker, CMC, Assistant City Clerk
1. Call To Order
Council Chair Greg Jamison called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
2. City Council Staff Report

Owen said there has been some discussion to move the committee meetings into the Council Chambers,
instead of having them in the Overflow Room. She said there would be continued discussion on it.
Provided an update on the Council members named to the various City Council Committees.
Owen reviewed some items pertaining to tonight?s City Council Meeting. She said there will be a request
to defer Item 26 for one week. Owen said that the Council will need to use the terminology "postpone
definitely" when making the motion. She said that Tamara Jorgensen, Assistant City Clerk, provided them
with the information. She said Item 40 was a request to deny and explained the procedures for doing so.
Owen said there would be a request made to refer Item 45 to the Public Services Committee. Item 46
pertains to appointments to the UDC and SECOG boards. She said Item 47 is the Notice of Transfer of
Appropriations within Major Organizational Units. Owen provided the Council with additional information
and a memo, from Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works, explaining the transfers.
3. Mayor Huether
Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works, provided information regarding the intersection of Burnside and
Madison streets. Discussion followed.
4. Audit Committee
Jamison said they are working on scheduling a follow up committee meeting, in a couple of weeks.
5. Fiscal Committee
Brown said, time permitting, that they would be meeting in the Overflow Room, right after this meeting.
6. Land Use Committee
No report.
7. Public Services Committee
No report.
8. City Council Open Discussion
Litz requested that the Council be updated on leadership meeting discussions. Discussion followed.
Erpenbach reminded viewers about Channel 16 and the programs that are available. She challenged the
Council to volunteer for the Mayor's Fourth of July Picnic; and for the Council and staff to work at the
Banquet.

At 5:24 p.m., Council Chair Jamison recessed the meeting for a 5 minute break.
At 5:33 p.m., the meeting reconvened.

Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works, closing comments.
Jamison encouraged the Council to think about where they want to conduct their committee meetings.
Jamison said Council members are welcome to attend the leadership meetings.

Council Chair Jamison adjourned the meeting at 6:20 p.m.
