Informational Meeting

MINUTES Monday, August 23, 2010 Informational Meeting 4:00 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Council Member Aguilar, Council Member Entenman, Council Member Erpenbach, Council Member Jamison, Council Member Litz, and Mayor Mike Huether. Members Absent: Council Member Anderson Jr., Council Member Brown, and Council Member Rolfing. Staff Present: Jamie L. Palmer, CMC, Assistant City Clerk. 1. Call To Order Council Chair Jamison called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. 2. Presentations A. Budget Hearings 1. Parks and Recreation Doc: Parks Don Kearney, Director of Parks and Recreation, gave a brief overview of the Parks and Recreation budget. 2. External Contracts and/or follow-up as the Council Requests a. Transit Transit Debra Gaikowski, Transit Planner, gave a brief overview of the Transit budget. Councilor Rolfing arrived to the meeting at this time. Councilor Anderson Jr. arrived to the meeting at this time. b. Washington Pavilion Councilor Litz left the meeting at this time. Larry Toll, Director of the Washington Pavilion, gave a brief overview of the Washington Pavilion budget. c. Convention Center Convention Center Scott Kavanaugh, General Manager of the Sioux Falls Convention Center, gave the overview of the Convention Center budget.  Councilor Litz returned to the meeting at this time. d. Arena Arena Terry Torkildson, Acting General Manager of the Sioux Falls Arena and Orpheum Theater, gave a brief overview of the Arena budget. B. Monthly Financial Report by Eugene Rowenhorst, Director of Finance July Monthly Summary Presentation-July Erpenbach asked about the project spending for Cliff Avenue from Benson Road to 60th Street North that is listed on Page 9 of the monthly report.
