Informational Meeting

MINUTES Monday, October 18, 2010 Informational Meeting 4:00 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Council Member Aguilar, Council Member Brown, Council Member Entenman, Council Member Erpenbach, Council Member Jamison, Council Member Litz, Council Member Rolfing, and Mayor Mike Huether. Members Absent: Council Member Anderson Jr.. Staff Present: Debra A. Owen, City Clerk/Chief of Council Operations, and Jamie L. Palmer, CMC, Assistant City Clerk. 1. Call To Order Council Chair Jamison called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2. City Council Staff Report A. Debra A. Owen, City Clerk /Chief of Council Operations Owen gave a brief overview of the process for items that need to added to the Regular Agenda on this evenings meeting. She spoke briefly about Sioux Falls Legislative Priorities for 2011. 3. Mayor Huether Huether gave some brief highlights on several happenings in the City of Sioux Falls. 4. Audit Committee Jamison stated that Rich Oksol, Lead Internal Auditor, will give two audit reports later during this meeting. 5. Fiscal Committee No report. 6. Land Use Committee Litz reported that a meeting will be held Monday, October 25, 2010, at 4:00 p.m. to discuss the Highland Heights Trailer Court. The Informational meeting on Monday, October 25, 2010 is cancelled. 7. Public Services Committee Brown reported the committee met on Monday, October 12, 2010. Topics of discussion were the Ethics ordinance and an affordable housing update. 8. City Council Open Discussion Erpenbach said the Public Transit Advisory Board is in the process of reworking the transit routes and a public hearing is scheduled for Monday, October 25, 2010, at 3:45 p.m., in City Hall First Floor Commission Room. The public is invited to attend and offer input. She also reminded listeners that you can sign up for a news alerts regarding events in Sioux Falls on www.siouxfalls.org.  Jamison said that a recent ordinance revision changed the number of Council Members that will be assigned to the Audit Committee. He said if there is interest in serving on this committee please speak to council leadership. 9. Presentations A. Park Concessions Internal Audit Report by Rich Oksol, Lead Internal Auditor Park Concessions Audit, Crystal Ice, Report 10-8 Papa John's Pizza, Report 10-07 Item D was heard at this time. A recess was taken at 4:50 p.m. to prepare the room for the Joint City Council/Minnehaha County Commission meeting at 5:00 p.m. The meeting resumed at 5:25 p.m. C.
