Informational Meeting

MINUTES Monday, December 13, 2010 Informational Meeting 4:00 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Council Member Aguilar, Council Member Anderson Jr., Council Member Brown, Council Member Entenman, Council Member Erpenbach, Council Member Jamison, Council Member Litz, and Council Member Rolfing. Members Absent: None. Staff Present: Debra A. Owen, City Clerk/Chief of Council Operations, and Tamara Jorgensen, CMC, Assistant City Clerk. 1. Call To Order Council Chair Jamison called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2. City Council Staff Report A. Debra A. Owen, City Clerk/Chief of Council Operations Owen stated that Item 4 on tonight’s City Council Meeting may be requested to be referred to the Fiscal Committee pending additional information from an Audit Committee Report/update. 3. Fiscal Committee Brown stated the Fiscal Committee met last week regarding approvals of contracts and state statues. 4. Public Services Committee Anderson Jr. stated there will be a meeting after today’s Informational meeting to discuss the Ethics Committee ordinance changes and to start the discussion on administrative rules. 5. City Council Open Discussion Discussion was held regarding the snow removal procedures used this weekend. Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works, and Galynn Huber, Street/Utilities Manager, from Public Works provided additional information to the Council. A timeline chart for the snow event was presented and discussed. Discussion was held regarding the timeline for clearing sidewalks after a storm. Discussion was held regarding the new snowgate equipment and usage. 6. Presentations A. Events Center Update by Mayor Mike T. Huether Powerpoint Presentation Introductions of selected architect and engineer for the Events Center and introductions of other personnel working with them on the project. 7. Executive Session A. Personnel issues under SDCL 1-25-2(1) A motion was made by Council Member Litz and seconded by Council Member Erpenbach to go into Executive Session at 5:04 p.m. to discuss personnel issues under SDCL 1-25-2(1). A motion was made by Council Member Aguilar and seconded by Council Member Jamison to go out at Executive Session at 5:42 p.m. 8.
