MINUTES Tuesday, June 10, 2014 Informational Meeting 4:00 PM at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West Tenth Street Members Present: Kenny Anderson Jr., Dean Karsky, Kermit L. Staggers, and Christine M. Erickson Members Absent: Michelle Erpenbach, Greg Jamison, Rex Rolfing, Rick Kiley, and Mike T. Huether Staff Present: Tamara Jorgensen, CMC; Lorie Hogstad, City Clerk; David Bixler, Budget Analyst; Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager; and Rich Oksol, Internal Audit Manager 1. Call To Order City Council Chair Dean Karsky called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 4:02 p.m. At this time, Council Members Michelle Erpenbach, Greg Jamison and Rick Kiley arrived at the meeting. 2. City Council Open Discussion Council Member Kermit L. Staggers spoke regarding the proposed garbage ordinances. Council Member Greg Jamison provided an update on the final Transit Task Force Meeting held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. He stated that a complete presentation would soon be brought forward to the full City Council. Jamison provided an update on his meeting with the South Dakota Municipal League. Council Member Kenny Anderson Jr. asked if any topics came up that would affect the legislative priorities for the Sioux Falls City Council. Discussion followed. Council Member Christine M. Erickson suggested inviting several of the Sioux Falls Legislators to a meeting to discuss how we can all better serve the city. She noted that working with each other will result in more accomplishments for the city and a better response when submitting the legislative priorities. Council Member Michelle Erpenbach added that the legislative priorities could be done in advance and the meetings could occur after the elections in November. Council Member Rick Kiley stated that the City Council could also attend the legislative coffees, this would allow the Council and the citizens to provide input to the local legislators. Karsky suggested that Jim David, the Legislative/Operations Manager, check into the schedules and try to coordinate a meeting. 3. Presentations A.
