MINUTES Tuesday, April 14, 2015 Informational Meeting 4:00 PM at Carnegie Town Hall Sioux Falls City Council 235 West Tenth Street Members Present: Kenny Anderson Jr., Christine M. Erickson, Michelle Erpenbach, Greg Jamison, Dean Karsky, Rick Kiley, Rex Rolfing, Kermit L. Staggers, and Mike T. Huether Staff Present: Tamara Jorgensen, MMC, Assistant City Clerk; Lorie Hogstad, CMC, City Clerk; David Bixler, Budget Analyst; Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager; and Rich Oksol, Internal Audit Manager 1. Call To Order Council Chair Dean Karsky called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2. City Council Open Discussion Council Member Kenny Anderson Jr. spoke regarding workforce development. He asked Darrin Smith, Director of Community Development, to provide an update on the SiouxFallsHasJobs.com website at next week's Informational Meeting. 3. Presentations A. Space Needs by Tracy Turbak, Director of Finance The Minnehaha County Commission has been invited to attend this presentation. Tracy Turbak, Director of Finance, provided a presentation on space needs for the City of Sioux Falls. County Commission Members Gerald Beninga, Jeff Barth, Cindy Heiberger, and Dick Kelly were in attendance. The following PowerPoint slides were reviewed and discussed: Project Need; Project Goals; Solutions Considered; Maximize City Hall; Buy an Existing Building; Lease an Existing Building; Lease a New Building Built-to-Suit; Build a New Building; Recommended Location; Benefits of the Recommended Solution; Views from Dakota Avenue and Van Eps Park; Downtown Government Services; Consolidation of City Buildings; Funding a New Building and Recommended Next Steps. Discussion followed. B. Election Review Committee Report by Lorie Hogstad, City Clerk Lorie Hogstad, City Clerk, reviewed the Committee Report from the Minnehaha County Election Review Committee. She also reviewed a PowerPoint  Presentation covering the following slides: The ERC meetings and dates; the Timeliness of Vote Tabulation; Performance of Vote Tabulators; Issues of Absentee Ballots; Election Processes; Additional Committee Comments; and a Meeting Information link for additional details.
