MINUTES Informational Meeting Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 4:00 PM Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. Call To Order Council Members Present: David Barranco, Sarah Cole (arr. 4:01 p.m.), Alex Jensen (arr. 4:04 p.m.), Rich Merkouris, Greg Neitzert, Marshall Selberg, Curt Soehl (arr. 4:03 p.m.), Pat Starr Council Members Absent: None Council Chair Marshall Selberg called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. 2. Committee/Commission Reports A. Siouxland Heritage Museum Board: Thursday, May 2, 2024 (Council Member Starr) Council Member Pat Starr gave the report from the May 2, 2024 Siouxland Heritage Museum Board Meeting. 3. Councilor Remarks Council Member David Barranco provided an update about a youth chess tournament being held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. at the Kenny Anderson Community Center. Council Member Greg Neitzert made remarks on hosting a tour of the Public Safety Center to elementary students, and that at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 11th at Prairie West Library, he and Northwest District Council Member-Elect Jennifer Sigette will be hosting an open discussion for the Northwest District residents. 4. Presentations A. 2024 Sculpture Walk Presentation by Cameron Ostrom, Director of Sales & Admin., WPMI Presentation: Approximately 15 minutes followed by discussion Janna Anderson, Lead Curator of the Visual Arts Center, Washington Pavillion, gave a presentation on the 2024 Sculpture Walk Program (presentation attached). Following the presentation, there was discussion held regarding the program and questions asked by the Council were answered by the presenter.  B. Recreation & Aquatics Bond Update by Shawn Pritchett, Finance Director Presentation: Approximately 15 minutes followed by discussion Shawn Pritchett, Finance Director, and Don Kearnery, Parks and Recreation Director, gave an update on the Recreation and Aquatics Bond (presentation attached). There was some discussion held following the presentation, and the questions asked by the Council were answered by the presenters. 5. Public Comment There was none. 6.
