MINUTES Informational Meeting Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 4:00 PM Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. Call To Order Council Members Present: David Barranco, Miranda Basye, Sarah Cole, Rich Merkouris, Ryan Spellerberg Council Members Absent: Jennifer Sigette, Curt Soehl, Richard L. Thomason Vice Chair Rich Merkouris called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m. He stated that there was a quorum. 2. Councilor Remarks There were none. 3. Presentations A. Introduction to Maren Engel, Arts Coordinator by Maren Engel, Arts Coordinator Presentation: Approximately 5 minutes followed by discussion Jeff Eckhoff, Director of Planning and Development Services, introduced Maren Engel, the City's new Arts Coordinator. Engel provided a brief work history; and spoke about what she has been doing for the past two months in the position. She also gave a glimpse into her upcoming scheduled trips. B. June 2024 Monthly Financial Statements by Shawn Pritchett, Director of Finance Presentation: Approximately 10 minutes followed by discussion Shawn Pritchett, Director of Finance, provided the June 2024 Monthly Finance Report. He spoke about: Unemployment; Job Openings & Unemployment (City MSA); Inflation; YTD Building Permit Valuations; Sioux Falls YTD Residential Permits (Units); Sales Tax Growth less audits; Sales Tax Collections year-over-year monthly growth; Entertainment Tax Growth less audits; Industry Taxable Sales Data; Lodging Tax Receipts; BID Tax Receipts year-over-year monthly growth; General Fund - YTD Revenues; and General Fund - YTD Expenditures (presentation attached to agenda).  Discussion followed with questions from the Council, which were answered by Pritchett. 4.
