MINUTES Informational Meeting Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 4:00 PM Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. Call To Order Council Members Present: Miranda Basye, Rich Merkouris, Jennifer Sigette, Curt Soehl, Ryan Spellerberg Council Members Absent: David Barranco, Sarah Cole, Richard L. Thomason Council Chair Curt Soehl called the meeting to order at 4 p.m. 2. Committee/Commission Reports A. Siouxland Heritage Museum Board: Thursday, October 3, 2024 (Council Member Soehl) There was no report. 3. Councilor Remarks Councilor Miranda Basye reported that she and Councilor Jennifer Sigette visited USD Sioux Falls last week; and learned about the great work that they are doing. 4. Public Comment Scott Ehrisman spoke about Public Input and how the Council interacts with citizens providing it. 5. Executive Session A. Consulting with legal counsel or reviewing communications from legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters pursuant to SDCL 1-25- 2(3) B. Discussing the qualifications, competence, performance, character or fitness of any public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee. The term "employee" does not include any independent contractor pursuant to SDCL 1-25- 2(1) A motion was made by Council Vice-Chair Merkouris and seconded by Council Member Basye to enter Executive Session at 4:07 p.m. for consulting with legal  counsel or reviewing communications from legal counsel about proposed or pending litigation or contractual matters pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2(3); and for discussing the qualifications, competence, performance, character or fitness of any public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee. The term "employee" does not include any independent contractor pursuant to SDCL 1-25- 2(1). Roll call vote to enter Executive Session. 5 Yes: Basye, Merkouris, Sigette, Soehl, Spellerberg; 0 No: (None). Motion Passed. 6. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 4:50 p.m. Denise D.
