Informational Meeting

MINUTES Informational Meeting Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 4:00 PM Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 1. Call To Order Council Members Present: David Barranco, Rich Merkouris (via telecom), Curt Soehl, Ryan Spellerberg, Richard L. Thomason Council Members Absent: Miranda Basye, Sarah Cole, Jennifer Sigette The meeting was called to order at 4:01 p.m. by Council Chair Curt Soehl. Due to technical difficulties, a recess was called by Soehl at 4:04 p.m. The meeting came out of recess at 4:10 p.m. 2. Committee/Commission Reports A. Operations Committee: Tuesday, October 15, 2024 (Council Members: Merkouris (Chair), Barranco, Basye, Soehl) Council Vice Chair Rich Merkouris gave the report from the October 15th Operations Committee meeting. 3. Councilor Remarks Councilor Richard L. Thomason gave some remarks on the conclusion of the tennis season and his tennis team's record. 4. Presentations A. Management Agreement - Wegner Arboretum Society by Brett Kollars, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Presentation: Approximately 10 minutes followed by discussion Brett Kollars, Assistant Parks and Recreation Director, gave a presentation on the Wegner Arboretum Society management agreement (presentation attached to the agenda). Following the presentation, questions asked by the Council were answered by Kollars and Mike Cooper, Executive Director of the Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum.  B. Jacobson Plaza Update and Food and Beverage Agreement - Washington Pavilion Management, Inc. by Jackie Nelson, Recreation Manager Presentation: Approximately 20 minutes followed by discussion Jackie Nelson, Recreation Manager, gave an update on Jacobson Plaza and the food and beverage agreement (presentation attached to the agenda). Following the presentation, questions asked by the Council were answered by Nelson. 5. Public Comment There was none. 6. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 4:43 p.m. Jermery J.
