Public Services Committee Meeting

MINUTES Tuesday, November 10, 2015 Public Services Committee 5:15 PM Carnegie Town Hall 235 West 10th Street Members Present: Council Member Kenny Anderson, Jr., Council Member Christine M. Erickson, Council Member Michelle Erpenbach, and Council Member Kermit L. Staggers Members Absent: None Staff Present: Tamara Jorgensen, MMC, Assistant City Clerk; David Bixler, Budget Analyst; and Jim David, Legislative/Operations Manager 1. Call To Order Committee Chair Christine M. Erickson called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. 2. Review and approval of minutes dated October 13, 2015 A motion was made by Michelle Erpenbach and seconded by Kenny Anderson Jr. to approve the minutes. Erickson called for a voice vote. All members voted yes. Motion Passed. 3. Subdivision Road Access Update by Mike Cooper, Director of Planning and Building Services, and Dean Lanier, Fire Marshal Division Chief Mike Cooper, Director of Planning and Building Services; and Dean Lanier, Fire Marshal, discussed the following topics: the ordinance guidelines; the continuation of existing streets; public convenience in driving through neighborhoods. Discussion followed. Lanier provided additional details regarding revised fire code requirements and developer discussions. He gave background information on subdivision requirements in the past and the process for Fire Development involvement in planning subdivisions and the actual construction in a subdivision. Discussion followed. Cooper stated they would be putting together information and proposals for the next IRAB Meeting in December. He stated he could send the City Council copies of the proposals prior to the meeting. Discussion was held regarding proposed changes and correcting existing issues. 4. Open Discussion Cooper gave the committee an update on Canterbury Heights stating there was going to be a 2nd Reading on this item at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Cooper is also meeting with 1-2 of the residents later this week to provide them with an update. 5. Adjournment Committee Chair Christine M.
