Village of South Blooming Grove Regular Meeting Monday AUGUST 28, 2023 8:00pm  Call to order Deputy Mayor Weiss called to order the Village Board Meeting at 8:04pm on August 28, 2023, for the Village of South Blooming Grove located at 811 State Route 208, within the Village of South Blooming Grove, and having a mailing address of Monroe, New York.  Roll call The following persons were present: o Abraham Weiss – Deputy Mayor o Asher Guttman- Trustee o Zalmon Rosner – Trustee o Isaac Ekstein – Legislative Aide to Mayor o Joel Stern – Confidential Assistant to the Mayor o Kerry Dougherty – Village Clerk • Absent o George Kalaj – Mayor o Yitzchok Feldman- Trustee  Correspondence o Isaac Ekstein advised we received correspondence from the Town of Palm Tree County Center by Route 208 and Mountain Road.  Public Comment • Sue Anne Vogelsberg – Any updates on the lawsuit with the Mangin Road extension? Any updates on the South Blooming Grove Business Park? Any updates on the Parks Department? She hasn’t received or seen anything about the 2nd fire department. A ZBA meeting on September 7 and the next municipal meeting is October how will village board conduct business especially with regard to budget. • Bonnie Rum – you list the fire company as a No. 1, where do you get that? There was the big fire at the Supermarket who investigate and what was the cause. Village Board advised the County investigates that. • Mrs. Castellano – asked that the flag be moved to be in accordance with protocol. Inquired about speeding on Merriewold Lane South. There is no notification when roads are just one lane. Bus service could go further as it only travels to KJ at this time. There is a new sign on the fence that needs to come down. Isaac Ekstein advised that the police are very proactive with the speeding in the village. 1  Village of South Blooming Grove Regular Meeting Monday AUGUST 28, 2023 8:00pm • Peter from Prospect he is curious how the new fire company is going to work. How will they be notified. Mr. Ekstein advised that it would be through 911 and it still needs to be up and running. • Pete from Prospect before the company goes to 911 how will it be advertised. We already have a fire department and district.  Business o Resolution No. (057) – Resolution of the Village Board of the Village of South Blooming Grove setting the sate and hours of the Village’s September 11 Ceremony. Motion to accept by Trustee Rosner, seconded by Trustee Guttman. 3Ayes, Deputy Mayor Weiss, Trustee Rosner, Trustee Guttman. 2 Absent Mayor Kalaj and Trustee Feldman. o Resolution No. (058) – Resolution of the Village Board of the Village of South Blooming Grove authorizing the board of trustees to execute the certificate of incorporation of the Village of South Blooming Grove Fire Company No. 1 and cause the same to be filed and adopting the Bylaws.
